In Memory of Our Board Members

We cherish the memories of original, founding board members: Arlene Bentley (1933-2018) and Stuart Bentley (1933-2023). As a husband – wife team, they served the Foundation well since its inception in 1990.

We also remember and thank Alex Hubb (1945-2022) for his many years of service on the MCF board as our principal representative on Chincoteague Island.

Sadly, our dear long-time board member Ann McCormick passed away on Thursday May 28, 2026. Like Marguerite, she loved children and enjoyed watching them learn.  Among many other accomplishments in the field of education, Ann created our interactive Misty website to encourage children to love reading and writing. Thank you, Ann. We miss you. You’ll always have a seat at our MCF table.
